Our story
The association “Latvian Hemp Union” was founded on 26 June 2018 and since then we have grown in terms of knowledge, numbers and the accomplished work, but our goals have remained the same.
2021 – A year of opportunity for us all
A round table gathering of 15 Latvian entrepreneurs and farmers to agree on the necessary changes in legislation, that would improve the industry in order to further strengthen the already acquired positions and to develop the opportunities that this unique and versatile industry can provide for Latvia, because we are ready for the next big leap into the world markets.
2020 – A year of action
Building with hemp concrete is pure pleasure.
We invite you to watch the video and to see the construction of a great wall from hemp concrete, that can be built by you or with the help of our members. The wall provides excellent heat and sound insulation, as well as creates a cosy feeling in the room.

2019 – A year of growth
The establishment and development of contacts between international industry experts and entrepreneurs has been encoded in our DNA. Experiencing this, we felt that we deserve to be a part of this Global Industry and that we also want to live in a more natural, healthier and in many ways “greener” world tomorrow; therefore, we never stopped striving for our dream and continued to work to make it a reality.
Cannafest 2018 / Prague, the Czech Republic
This was the first major international Symposium of the hemp industry that the Union participated in, and where we displayed our own stand.
The highlight of this trade show was the scientific conference, which is gaining popularity every year as scientists, doctors, entrepreneurs and hemp ambassadors from around the world take part in it.
Establishment of the Union
Sensing the trends of world events and seeing a distant, but truly great opportunity for us and Latvia, we – young, energetic and far-sighted entrepreneurs, scientists, lawyers and activists – came together to create a voice for expressing our common goals, and began our path towards achieving them.
